In some areas ancestry.com is free through the local library. I live in North Carolina but have access to the library edition of ancestry.com through computers at the local library. I also have access to Heritage Quest from home through the library. Since Heritage Quest is not renewing contracts with genealogical organizations, it will still be available through libraries.
