SIMMONS - I'm looking for something that postively links my gg grandpa Andrew SIMMONS to Greenville/Durham/Cairo or Oak Hill, Greene Co. NY. The timeframe would be between 1810 and 1836. AND, I'd still like to learn his first wife's name (who died, in Walton, between 1846 - 1849). ROSA - any additional information pertaining to the children of Benjamin and Polly ROSA (who moved to Walton in 1834 from Ulster Co.) A FEW Collateral Surnames: ATWELL, BENEDICT, BAARD/BAIRD/BEARD/BART, BRINK, CHRISTIAN, FRANCE, FRINK, HENDERSON (?), HOUGHTALING, RIVENBURG, and WOOD.
Dear "Shindie2" (you didn't say your name. :-) My 6th great-grandmother was Mary Benedict, b. 4 Dec 1699, Norwalk, Fairfield County, CT, d. 1761. She married Daniel St. John. I don't know where Mary or Daniel died, but their son Peter St. John died in Walton, Delaware County in 1811. I also have a Mary Benedict enumerated in the household of my 3rd great-granduncle, Thaddeus Seymour St. John in Walton in the 1880 census. She was 50 at the time and is listed as "servant." Do you think we have any connection? Barbara Heard, Pioneer, Amador County, California
There was a Benedict family lived on Sutherland Road in Meridale. My grandmother Kate Sutherland Gibson was a close friend of Clara Benedict. You don't have a Robert Henry Hotaling born in 1892 do you, who would've been born a Beers but adopted by Mr. Hotaling?
