I just received word from DAR that they have approved my supplemental application for Ebenezer Bassett Patriot in the Rev. War. His son is Cornelius Bassett. About 3 years ago they told me they wouldn't approve the application because I only have a preponderance of proof that he is the father of Joanna Bassett my GGgrandmother. I should get a copy of the application with their notes on how the proof was finally made. I am please that this line has finally been accepted. The line now goes back to the Mayflower.

Congratulations!! I too am working on my DAR, and so far they are not approving it, 3 years of waiting and hard work before that. We have books stating the connection, but they are denying because they say the information in the books - notice books, plural - is hearsay even though it is through a relative. Now going over every little detail we can find to add to the application.
