    1. [NYDELAWA] Anti-rent War
    2. Marge, There are instructions at http://www.dcnyhistory.org/antirent.html "The Delaware County Clerk's Office has original documents, photocopies and typescripts thereof of these events as they moved through the two criminal courts of the time--the Court of Oyer & Terminer (OT) and the Sessions Court (GS). Most of the documentation requires on-site research. However, the Indictments from both the above mentioned Courts are complete in themselves and may be of interest to descendants of those named as well as to researchers. Photocopies of the handwritten (sometimes difficult to read) and the typescripts are available at 50 cents per page. Shirley Houck, Records Clerk, P. O. Box 426; Delhi, NY 13753" Question: since this was posted on the website in 1997, are these instructions still correct? > Message: 9 > Date: Fri, 17 Nov 2006 17:18:17 EST > From: Dpmarge@aol.com > Subject: [NYDELAWA] Anti-Rent War > To: NYDELAWA-L@rootsweb.com > Message-ID: <cc4.34e9be8.328f8f29@aol.com> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" > > Hi Delaware County cousins. > Would any of you happen to know how the court records can be obtained > regarding those indicted during the Anti-Rent War??? 3. I sent a request for marriage records to the same address with a check back in June per the following: Should you find your ancestor in the index to marriage licenses, you may order a copy of Affidavit (see sample below) by sending a SASE to the Delaware County Clerks Office, P.O. Box 426, Delhi, New York. Cost for each record is $2.00. I have not heard a thing and the check has remained uncashed. 3. I would guess your letter was lost. I sent for a copy of a page from the Descriptive List and was served very promptly.
