I don't think this made it to the Delaware List. Thought it was important to the many who have loved ones buried in the Margaretville Cemetery Steve December 9, 2006 Dear Friends, Few promises are as sacred as the promise to care for the final resting place of a loved one. The Village of Margaretville has taken that trust very seriously and has cared for the historic main cemetery on Cemetery Road for several decades. Unfortunately, repairing major damage resulting from harsh winter weather and other causes costs money that is not in the Village budget. Over the past year a section of the cemetery where Civil War veteran James Myers is buried has deteriorated: The hillside is slipping away causing walls and stairs to buckle and collapse. Through the M-ARK Project, Inc., the Village has received a matching grant from the O'Connor Foundation for $3,000 to try to address this problem. While the Village has some money to apply towards these repairs, it is not enough. $1,000 needs to be raised to match the grant funding. We hope you will help meet this goal by writing a check today. Any amount you can give will be appreciated. You can mail your check to the M-ARK Project, Inc., PO Box 247, Margaretville, NY 12455. Contributions to M-ARK towards this project are tax deductible. If the match can be raised, we are hopeful that repairs will commence in spring, 2007. Thanking you in advance, we are Joan Lawrence Bauer Executive Director, MARK Project William H.
