Maurice, Sorry I really cannot help you there. I know my family left in 1950-51 I was born in Endicott, NY. All I can say is hearsay about the farm. The family home was burned down by my older half brother. My father built another house on the Dry Brook farm But it was more of a chicken coup. for it had a dirt floor and no utilites. He wasn't much of a farmer. He sold the farm to I think to Fred Darling his brother in law. Though that is not gospel. The person you need to talk to is Paul and his sister Opel. However. I have not talked to Paul in 3 years. He is probably in Florida this time of year. I can't blame him for that! I do not know where his sister lives. I tried the white pages but no luck for either of them to relay your enquiry to them. He most likely has the phone disconnected during the winter months and i just tried the 411 help but no luck. I am out here in Utah so can't run over to his home there to tack a note to his home to call me when he returns in the spring. But if you locate Paul he is a fountain of information about the inhabitants. \John Mullinex mhitt@adelphia.net wrote: To John Mullinex: Hi. I saw your response to Terry and would like to know more about your parents living on Dry Brook Road. My grandfather and 11 others bought the family farm from Fred Darling back in the late 30's. There was the Beaver Meadow Lake up at about 5 miles from Readburn Road. I been going up there since I was born (1947). Where exactly was the house on Dry Brook Road? Do you remember anything of the area? Do you remember the acid works across the street (from the Readburn Church)? I collect all information on the area, especially the Readburn Acid Works. He and his wife took my sisters into their home when we were placed in Foster care. His son Paul is still alive living on Readburn Road. Said he is a snow bird and heads to Flordia each winter. I would be interested in the picture of Fred.I would be glad to get it to Paul. > > John Mullinex > > > Terry wrote: Hello all and Happy Holidays, > > I ran across these pictures that my grandmother had..a picture > of Ethel Knapp.from Readburn.there is no date and this was given to my > grandmother Ella Klinegardner under her maiden name.she married Earl Jones > in 1924.so believe the picture would be before then.appears to be a young > lady in her early teens? > > > > A gentleman named Fred Gobel..appears about 14 or so.from the scowl his > face.definitely an attitude.! > > > > Then a couple of pictures of someone named Joe Kisson.young man of maybe > early 20's.one on a horse and one just posing with a double barrel shotgun > under his arm...the Kisson could also be Kissin.but I don't believe > so.anyone have a connection to them?
