    1. [NYDELAWA] WWII Dead & Vets From Delaware County
    2. Joyce just posted to her website my transcription of a list of deceased WWII servicemen from Delaware County. The list originally appeared in The Walton Reporter two days after Japan surrendered in 1946. There are approximately 160 names. The data generally includes the hometown, place of death, and date of death. It sometimes includes the cause of death, branch of service, and names of kin. My copy of The Reporter also lists service data for RETURNING VETS. There are thousands of names, and since I cannot easily transcribe that at this time, I'm offering to do lookups. I need the first and last name of your vet in order to do the lookup. The paper also profiled 24 deceased servicemen from Walton ... including photos. I will try to scan them in and get them to Joyce shortly. There are additional profiles for servicemen from other towns, as well as lists of service awards, etc. Much of this data was provided to The Reporter by the US War Department, but as The Reporter points out, there is much error. Best wishes, Carolee Inskeep ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at http://www.aol.com.
