I, too, have a photo of a relative who was dead - I was told it was common practice at that time. Though it doesn't interest me to see them laid out like that, I found the scene to be of interest - most photos of the times were either professionals or in studios (I assume because of the lighting), so all of my holiday/winter photos were taken outside with everyone freezing. Anyway, there was a photo in the background on a little table that was most likely a relative if the setting was the family house. Look for clues in these photos - they might lead to something interesting! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rene'" <rtreff@stny.rr.com> To: <NYDELAWA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, January 20, 2007 3:46 PM Subject: [NYDELAWA] photos of the dead > Hi everyone, > > There has been an interesting discussion going on another list regarding > photos of the dead. I have one taken of my Aunt's Mother - hard to discern face. AND NOW you're all going to think I'm weird - I took one of my Father - not Mother or anyone else. I wonder what that means. ----- Original Message ----- From: Pat Watts To: Rene' ; nydelawa@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, January 20, 2007 6:33 PM Subject: Re: [NYDELAWA] photos of the dead I, too, have a photo of a relative who was dead - I was told it was common practice at that time. Yes, I'm curious as to why you did that. Actually on the other list, there were quite a few people who said they have done it for various reasons.
