This past Labor Day weekend I was helping to clean out my dad's place in Stamford, NY and brought home with me may books along with other stuff. Among the books was one entitled, "Those were the Days", by Edward Ringwood Hewitt. On the flyleaf was a note written to my grandfather, "To Mr. A. E. Aldrich I hope this book written by my Father may give you and your family pleasure and amusement. Thank you for your very kindly help the other night. Candace Hewitt Stevenson (Mrs. Gordon Stevenson)" I think this may have been the Stevensons that lived on Roses Brook Road a couple of miles from where I grew up on what is now Roxbury Mtn road. There is some genealogical information on the Hewitts in the beginning of the book that I can share if anyone is interested. Vernon C. Aldrich Surnames: Aldrich, Hoadley, Mallet, Preston, Patterson, Hammond, Robinson, Kimball, White, Nott, Ely, Burness, Rintoul, Summerhayse ***************** The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Hi Vern, Would you please share with me enough of your PATTERSON, ROBINSON & WHITE lines, so that I can compare early PATTERSON & WHITE (N.H., new England & another WHITE in N.J.) lines and ROBINSON in Pennsylvania & possibly Maryland.
