Could someone give an example of what is written on a death record? Thanks Cindy In a message dated 9/19/2007 4:44:57 A.M. You get the death records at the same place the town/village clerk. I have found that the death records contain more information than certificates. A few years ago, I had someone tell me this and since then this is what I ask for when I need a record - it has proven to be very helpful in my own research. I usually get the parents names and where they were born. If they died of any illnesses. Where they died and are buried. Spouse's name, birth information, death information if applicable. Whereas the death certificate usually just gives the deceased's information. How far back do the death records generally go? --Realizing that it may well vary by location. >I usually get the parents names and where they were born. If they died of > any illnesses.
