It could of been a logging town has the name changed or town in gone Does anyone have information on Methol and the township I'm trying to get a copy of his death certificate for my genealogy records. > > Thanks for any assistance's > > Lloyd > Methol is on Trout Brook a few miles east of Burnwood. This is in the town of Hancock. The road starts at Peakeville, near East Branch. Neither Methol, Burnwood or Peakeville today are anything resembling towns or villages. Just a scattering of houses, most of which were built in this century. My family was in Burnwood from about 1880-1905 and probably knew your G Grandfather. What was his name?. You'll have to use the index at the State Library in Albany to get an index number for the death certificate. If you can't go to Albany it will cost you a LOT to have state employees take the 5 minutes or so to do it for you. Once you have the index number it will cost you somewhat over $20 and about a 3 week wait to get a copy. If they do the index search it will take about 6 months. The Hancock Herald will probably have an obit for him on microfilm. Bob Norton
