Hi, Out of book Nameing The Hills and Hollows of Delaware County. page 88 Menthol was an acid factory village. A post office was established in 1894 under the name of Trout Brook with Irving Holcomb as the first postmaster. The name was change to Menthol in 1895, and was discontinued in 1915. Hammond & Fish reportedly shipping only acetate and methanol, ran the earliest wood chemical plant. Hope this helps. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lloyd Davis" <led2064@verizon.net> To: <NYDELAWA@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 11, 2007 10:33 AM Subject: [NYDELAWA] Town of Methol > Hello All, > I'm a new subscriber to web page has a lot of interesting information. > > My Ggrandfather died April 17, 1904 in Methol possible Colchester Twp.
