    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: grannytoad Surnames: DAY, CARRIER, POLHEMUS Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.delaware/495.1.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: That Joseph is one of the sons of my ancestor John Cook. I would like more info if you have it on Clarissa Day Carrier (they lived btw at Liberty, Sullivan Co). On 1850 Census, Carriers born late 1700s were mainly born CT, but alas, no Clarissa. Another thing I was going to mention to the Day researcher is that I'm aware that some Days came from CT and are likely the same Days (along with Polhemuses) over at Dutchess County, earlier. I did not find surname Day mentioned in John & Richard Polhemus' book _Up On Preston Mountain_. 1840 Census New York Delaware Tompkins has an interesting John Day (age 40-50) who does have some sons. Don't see him 1850, but is there 1860 Cannonsville with wife Permelia, John b abt 1797 NY. Sons Arnold S 39 and John H 32 live on either side of them. These may or may not be related. familysearch.org shows them likely to be John Arnold Day 4Oct1796-27Jun1862 Cannonsville Delaware Co, and Pamelia Sisson 19Nov1800-8May1866 Cannonsville. Their marriage is shown 29Jun1819 Rensselaerville, Rensselaer, NY. --any obits for William Day? Two other suggestions. rootsweb.com has surname message boards AND email lists - those may be good resources for DAY. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
