I have an Alexander CAMPBELL, b. about 1780, in or near Glenorchy. He married Ann or Anna STEWART about 1796. Sometime after that they emigrated to the US. They settled in Stamford, Delaware County, NY, by 1820, where they were listed on the census. It's likely they were in one or another town in Delaware County through 1829 and possibly later. ???? Children I'm certain of are William, b. abt. 1814, Henrietta, b. 1819, and Catharine, b. 1829. By 1842, Henrietta [and possibly the others] were in Chemung Co., NY.?There were very likely other children - I'm?just not sure who [or is it whom]. Additional note: Alexander CAMPBELL was listed very near Colin CAMPBELL on the 1820 census. Colin was?b. Glenorcy, 1783. It's likely that, if not brothers, they were related in some manner. If there's anyone out there with information, a connection, or even bright ideas, I'd appreciate your help jump-starting this stimied line of mine.
