I am trying to find out how I might access a book described as follows: Ephraim Wheeler settled at "The Cove" (Earl Wheeler, given by Susan C. Wheeler, Wheeler Genealogy [Hancock, NY, n.d. (no date?)] The description above is from Volume 3 of the Wheeler Genealogy by Raymond David Wheeler. In my work so far, I have Susan Catherine Wheeler, b. 1837, d. 1929 in Hancock, NY. I believe that the Earl Wheeler in the reference was probably older and was related perhaps as a 1st cousin once removed. There is a mention of an Earl Wheeler in the History of Delaware County as an attorney in Honesdale, PA. Gary Wheeler

Deborah Ann Durphy (Durfey, Durfee?) born a bit after Jonathan, in Delaware CO...wife of Jonathan Griffin b 1819 Both are on census..I have deeds but no parents. Where are the other Durphys of Delaware Co? I have found just a few in census......perhaps they migrated from Ulster or Sullivan Co? There are tons of Griffins but no records of the birth of my Jonathan...he lived in Delaware Co but ws supposed to be born in Greene Co...but that is according to census only....I think he was born in Delaware or mobed there shortly after his birth.. I have found that census data is wrong....when I was searching fro Jonathan initially, using his daughter and gradndaughter as sources,, his daughter was listed on the census as being born in Stamford, CT...but it was Stamford, NY. Census writers sometimes wrote what they wanted to..and sometimes folks gave them the wrong info..I have had that happen to...wrong ages, etc...and sometimes counties changed anyway..... I feel that somewhere buried in Stamford, NY history, is my Jonathan's birth and his parents.... Deb --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo! Mail.
For my husband's line, I'm looking into the following families. I have his lines of descent, just filling in the blanks for other members of these families. HULL-GOODRICH Descendants of Damon HULL and Sabra Goodrich Johnson. They married in 1833, probably in Walton or the surrounding area. The parents of at least three children, perhaps more. HULL-OOTHOUDT Julia Hull, daughter of the above couple married John Hart OOTHOUDT in Walton, 4 May 1864. They had two children. OOTHOUDT-DANN Mary Sabra Oothoudt married John Meikleham DANN in Walton, 28 October 1902. They had one child, a daughter. MEIKLEHAM-YENDES John Meikleham married Catha/erine Yendes in Hamden, Delaware, NY, 7 October 1835. They were the parents of eight children. I'm especially interested in Catherine's parentage. She was born ca 1775 in Rhode Island. Her husband was born in Germany, ca 1769.

Regarding the Benedict and St John names that I have seen on the Roll call messages; they are connected way back in my research: Mary Benedict, b. 4 Dec 1699 in Norwalk, Fairfield CT; d. 1761; m. Daniel St John - she is the sister of my 7th gr. grandfather Samuel Benedict b. 31 Jan 1703/04; m. 1724 Jemimah Canfield. I have info for three more generations back. Contact me if interested. St Johns are also in our line way back, though I have very limited information: Another 7th gr. grandfather John Benedict b. 3 Mar 1675/76 in Norwalk, Fairfield CT; d. 16 Jan 1706; m. 1693 Anna St John b. 1674. Again, contact me if interested. There was so much intermarrying among cousins and between families, and almost every family had a Mary Benedict - it can get confusing and I have some pretty reliable research. Their second daughter Eudora Marie Atwell married William Henry Simmons (my great grandparents). There were a number of St. John's living off of Oxbow Hollow Road. Dennis, My mother is Helen Woolheater (22 Nov 1910 - 10 Apr 1969). Her parents are Leon Woolheater (2 Oct 1885 - 5 Jan 1956) and Orpha Kelly (14 Jun 1885 - 17 Oct 1976). Leon's parents are Joseph S. Woolheater ( 18 Mar 1859 - 14 Jan 1896) and Mary E. Dumond (16 Apr 1862 - 13 Jun 1927). Joseph's parents are Josiah Woolheater (12 Apr 1822 - 13 Jun 1898) and Harriet Smith (1825 - 16 Jun 1897). Josiah's parents are John Woolheater (1 Apr 1780 - 16 Jan 1860) and Susannah Robinson (25 Dec 1783 - 18 Sep 1855). And that's as far as I have gotten so far. Susan, I would suggest ordering the deed records from the Mormon Church. They have them all microfilmed. You would order the index film first. Then once you know the book and page it is on, you would order the actual deed transfer. If you need help with this let me know and I will walk you through it.
