Linda, I see on the Delaware site, Bowman Sloat's wife is Mary Frances Aldrich. On the LDS site, I find in the 1880 census a Mary F. Aldrich, b. ca. 1873, in Franklin, Delaware County. Does this sound likely? Parents David and Amanda Aldrich. Doris, you know that the Signor's and Terry's met back in the early 1800, when the Signor's came into Delaware County to purchase cattle and that that meeting lead to the first two marriages between these families and later the Signor moved to settle in Delaware County. Later there were several marriages between these two families with the McDonald's and you often find these families near to one of these families. I am not sure about the late 1800's but believe one or two took place after 1900. Doris, is you need addition data, please contact me on my website. Alan

Sally, I'm sorry to get back to you so late, but Rene's call for a roll call just before we left town for a couple of days caused a full mailbox of 152 items- mostly Delaware County. I'm on a fishing expediton. My middle name is Clark- I'm named after my g-grandfather, James Clark Bush (1828-1910) of Franklin, Delaware Co, NY m. Augusta Combs June 1857. I cannot identify any of my Bush ancestors with a Clark name. So, on the assumption that Clark comes from a maternal connection, I am fishing for a Clark family with a Bush connection. By any chance is that in your Clark research? Yes, you're right - Laura did marry a Terry. Which one - I've no idea. Seems I remember that her son died as a result of drowning - (this is from the recesses) in a pond - broke thru the ice or something of that sort. It more than likely would have been published in the Walton Reporter as I think the Downsville (Progress ?) would have been gone by that time. Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment. I'm also very interested in the ships that brought our ancestors to Delaware County - first through NY, then up the Hudson on a sloop to the Catskill area, and then to Delaware County. The early families would be McDonald, Rose, Thompson, Forman, Flint, Houghtaling, Clark, and Gay. Unrelated families with parallel migration patterns who also married into these families would be Cummings, Grants, Humes, Kedzie's.
