Sorry, I don't have those names in my records. I have taken my WOOD line back to David M. Wood b. 1800 in Ct and moved to Delaware County, NY ca1820. I believe, but have no solid proof, that his father was Obadiah WOOD. I desperately wish I could make a connection with someone. Melissa, saw your MSG on the Delaware site that you are a descendant of the CT Wood surname. Any chance that your line included a Abigail Wood (1750 - 1798) who wed a John Jacob Signor around 1780. Many people are trying to locate Abigail parent's, and has been the bi-ck-wall of several direct descendants and my own research on this family. Will be out of town, beginning Monday but ill check my mail from where I will b staying. Hope that you family genealogy may the answer to our puzzle. Thank you in advance for checking into your family line on this request and have a Happy Thanksgiving.. Alan
Sue, if your check hasn't been cashed then your correspondence was lost in the mail system, as Shirley Houck replies immediately to everyone request, as I received copies of 8 marriages certificates the same week I mailed it off to the Delaware County clerk's office I suggest you try again, attn: Shirley and I am sure that you will get the material your requested. I hope that you have a great weekend and better results. Alan in Alabama
Marge, The best answer is right on the Delaware County site. Please take a look at this page, with part of the info below. http://www.dcnyhistory.org/antirent.html ""The Delaware County Clerk's Office has original documents, photocopies and typescripts thereof of these events as they moved through the two criminal courts of the time--the Court of Oyer & Terminer (OT) and the Sessions Court (GS). Most of the documentation requires on-site research. However, the Indictments from both the above mentioned Courts are complete in themselves and may be of interest to descendants of those named as well as to researchers. Photocopies of the handwritten (sometimes difficult to read) and the typescripts are available at 50 cents per page. Shirley Houck, Records Clerk, P. O. Box 426; Delhi, NY 13753 "" Note on this page is a listing of the many indictments made against even innocent people, this was followed by a Judge and Jury convictions, who was part of the rich crowd, and many of the above innocent spent time in jail for this travesty of justice. A number of the indicted people were sons or grandsons of the Revolutionary War veterans that came to Delaware county early in the 1800s or before. In the copied part is how to obtain the information Best regards, Jeremiah (Palmer) Found out recently that one of interesting links was that Solomon (5th ggrandfather) (Revolutionary War veteran) had a daughter Elizabeth who married David Earle. I believe David was an uncle to Moses Earle, the focus of the War. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Dpmarge@aol.com> To: <NYDELAWA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, November 17, 2006 5:18 PM Subject: [NYDELAWA] Anti-Rent War > Hi Delaware County cousins. > Would any of you happen to know how the court records can be obtained > regarding those indicted during the Anti-Rent War??? Barb, I thank you for your time and effort to reply to my Ogden question. I will have to go to my notes to see the connection. Yours, Elizabeth
Hi, I just happened on the list for the first time in a long time. It seems you are quite busy doing look-ups for everyone. I am a WOOD decendant. The line came from Connecticut and ended up in Stamford, NY. I was wondering if you would mind looking for any WOOD's in your book. I am in no great hurry. I appreciate any information and I am very grateful for your time and kindness.
