    1. [NYDELAWA] SIGNOR GENEALOGY
    2. Currently working on the Delaware County Signor line and would like to talk to any family related to the Signor line, such as the Hulbert, Rose and Shaver family, are just a few families that are connected to the John Jacob (Sickner) Signor line. Attempting to verify much of the data I have rec'd from direct line Signor;s, descendants' plus the writings of Clarence and Edison Signor's genealogy works. Would like to obtain any photographic copies of those directly belonging to the Signor line. Any assistance would be deeply appreciated as I want to send a finished copy to the Downsville Library that already have my earlier notes on the Signor history. in addition a copy would be send it to Joyce so it can be included in the Delaware County web-site .Alan

    1. [NYDELAWA] Benjamin HARMON, wife Betty[STANNARD], daughter Harriet m.EVERETTc.1846
    2. C J Sheldon
    3. To all Listers: Am interested to learn more on the HARMON andSTANARD families in -- Franklin,Delaware Co.,NYS and the Township of Sidney may also be involved as an area of interest for these families. Harriet married George A.EVERET T before a first child was born on 27.APR.1848 [school census]. Child's name was Elizabeth Harriet-also called Betsy/ Betsy C./Eliza C. in subsequent censuses. I am seeking the marriage information for Harriet [HARMON] and George A EVERETT. George was the 2cd. son of Thomas Acton EVERETT and Polly [BENEDICT]. About 2-3 weeks ago while researching in Chenango Township in Broome County,NY--I finally after 14 years found the following information about Harriet--whose maiden-name had been totally elusive: " Harriet EVERETT died 19.March,1886 from Glen Castle [a small village / area on State RT.11 north of Binghamton, Broome CO., NYS. a few miles] Age 66. Was born in Franklin,Delaware County,NY. . FATHER-Benjamin HARMON, MOTHER Betty STANARD {GLEN}."...............Glen means buried in Glen Cemetery in Chenango Township, Broome County,NYS. The HARMON and STANARD surnames are totally new for me to research. I have NO other details on them yet. Harriet and George EVERETT are my third great-grandparents. Charlotte J.Sheldon in SO.CALIF. but born in Cortland Co.,NYS.

    1. [NYDELAWA] ROGERS,DAVIS,ANDEVERETT in Delaware Co.,NYS
    2. C J Sheldon
    3. Dear Sally, The info onthe ' intersection' of these families in early DEL. CO. is being collected for mailing to you. One letter of 8 smaller pages [of correspondence-sized paper of 2 pages back to back-] was nearly hopeless to copy clearly as it was. Finally,I cut those pages apart, and printed each page separately and 127% larger! Not knowing I would be mailing these on, some notes [in darker ink] by me are on the papers --done at the time I copied them at the DEL. Co. Historical Museum 2 weeks ago. The first information I emailed to you was from a CHART ? apparently? in the same handwriting as the letter, etc. A guess on my part. Since I sent you most of the info. on the chart, or on the ROGERS and DAVIS info. now being prepared for mailing, I am NOT copying the oversized chart. I suggest you write to Delhi for those as they have an oversized copy-machine. Your Questions: I was born in Cortland,Cortland County,NYS; went to high school and college in that county; then married an Air Force careerman[SGT.]. We were a traveling, military family from 1945 to 1963 when he retired in Ventura Co.,CA--where I still live. We raised 5 childre, as Air Force children. My husband is deceased. I went back to full-time teaching and have a cumulative total of about 32 years of that-from K to 9th. grade-much at the 6th. grade level. I have taught Research Methods for Genealogy here about 5 1/2 years and still occasionally fill-in. Sally, I have found that if we as researchers will be more generous by putting our 'stuff' on-line at a website such as Rootsweb or Gen-web--and NOT just do 'in private' requests for information--then we are assisting MANY more researchers. I am ALWAYS looking for the 'missing-pieces / brick-wall-answers ' on-line--just hoping that someone, somewhere , will be able to assist. The nicest thank-you I could wish for would be that you post your material and perhaps also send it to Delaware Co.Hist.. You see--people DO find out a lot--and then keep it only in their family. What a Missed-Opp[ortunity for us all! Yours, Charlotte J.Sheldon P.S. In my mailings, am including some internet 'seekings' about Brabant,; ST John Rogers, the Martyr; and the Mayflower-ROGERS. Interesting and I learned some good new-to-me 'stuff'. Not so sure it will be of any connections for you. But, you can let me know. CJS

    2. Sorry - John A. Everett am. Deborah Ann Husted Children that I'm aware of were: Mary, Charles, Alice, John, Harriet, Jenny. John was in the Civil War. Died of wounds after 1867. Deborah is in the 1870 census, the children dispersed into other families. Don't find Deborah in 1880. We spoke quite a long time ago, just wondered if U have come across anything. 1. [NYDELAWA] ROGERS,Rufus -Delaware Co.,NYS:1800's
    2. C J Sheldon
    3. Dear Sally in No.CAR., Aren't you glad that some rain is falling there this week,Sally? I live in California-So.Cal. to be specific -and we are in a fire-storm mess following our second year of extreme drought here. BAD,BAD. The nearest fire to me is about 25 miles. So-O.K. for now. Two weeks ago I was researching in the Delaware Co. Historical Museam in DELHI,NYS.The name I was researching in particular was EVERETT.A great-grandmother of mine was widowed twice--then married a ROGER's. I do not yet know his first name and think that marrieage occured in Broome County anyway but this is NOT the first time that ROGERS has surfaced in my EVERETT research. However--when I saw some papers in Delhi with a ROGERS- EVERETT connection, I simply decided to copy them in case of a future connection. You are in luck because, Sally--there are mention of TWO named Rufus! plus some other connective information. Isn't that great? ROGERS,Rufus---NO data but married to Polly [CUNNINGHAM ].No parents listed for these two people and NO SOURCE CONTRIBUTER NAMED,either. Sorry. But, seems to have perhaps been an EVERETT descendant. ROGERS,Rufus M.--Born in Sidney,NY 1822 and married to Margaret L. [DAVIS]. She was born in Unadilla in 1831.There is more info. on the DAVIS family. [ROGERS], Margaret--born in Sidney in 1875. She married a Ralph S. EVERETT born in Castle Creek,Chenango TWP.,Broome Co.,NY.There is some more info on the EVERETT family. It DOES connect to 'my' EVERETT's--BUT THROUGH A LINE OF COUSINS. There is some cemetery-plot information also. Sally-- if you write to HELEN at the Delhi Museum--she has some more on this ROGERs family, I think. No other children are mentioned in what I copied to bring home from my trip.THEY CHARGE .25 A PAGE AND WHAT I HAVE was six pages. That will give you some idea of charges. Let me know if this info. is helpful, will you, please. I happen to think that these kinds ofunexpected 'happening' are 'meant to be--for some reason. Yours,Charlotte J. Sheldon
