Please note that my Hills ancestors came from Mass and Connecticut and some of the N.E. States is the reason I have posted to those area's to. Like the Skillings of Portland Maine are also part of my Hills Tree. Subject:I don't know if this is your William, but it might well be, assuming he was born in 1811 in NY. I don't have anything else on this family. I just looked them up on the 1880 CDs. The second William is probably the one who's burial record you found. These are the only Williams or W.s found in Iowa on the 1880 census that are close to the age you indicated. I deleted a sentence from this (Stan).Maybe this will help some of you other Sanders researchers. Dates fit good. It is close to where my gmo Mary Sanders was born. In fact she was born in Hardin Co. Iowa, the year this gentleman died. She was the dau., of Joel C. Sanders & Ruehwama (Rewama Cessna) Sanders. My Sanders where in both of these counties having come from Green Co., Wisconsin. Probably with the Cessna family and possibly some of our Hills line also. My GGGg-parents Joel Hills and Mary "Polly" Fox are both buried Gap Cemetery just outside of Ablany, Green co., Wisconsin. All three were in Green Co., Wisconsin Wm. my GGgfa was married to Louisa Hills and she is buried Waterloo Blackhawk Co., Iowa. Louisa was there daughter. My GGgfa father is and has been very difficult to try and find and this is the closet possibility I have came across yet. He and his wife came from Onondaga Co., New York to Wisconsin. I'm adding my GGgfa and family below as I feel the above census info isn't going to be him based on amount of children or kinder. Wiilliam Charles Sanders b Abt 1810 NY Wife Louisa Hills b.
