    3. Hi Everyone, I am looking for any info on John PATTERSON born in Ireland who immigrated to the US before the Revolutionary War. Also, his son, James B. PATTERSON who served in the War of 1812 and lived in CORTLAND Co.. I have found a James in the Census Records of 1825 for Preble, Cortland Co, where he is listed as having 6 males, 5 females in his household. There is also a James PATTERSON in the Census Records of 1825 for Willet, Cortland Co, who has 4 males and 3 females in his household. By 1835 census, neither are in Willet or Preble, but there is a James PATTERSON listed in the 1835 Census for Cortlandville. My gr gr grandfather, Charles Hamilton PATTERSON, and his brother, Walter J. PATTERSON were both born in Cortland Co, NY. Charles on 22 June 1825. He married Althesia (Alethia) BARKER in NY. They had one daughter, Marietta, born 14 Jul 1848 in NY. They migrated to Jackson Co, IA in 1856 and lived the remainder of their lives there. I have yet to find anything on him in Cortland. Walter was born in 1809/10 in Cortland Co. He married Sophia FLANDERS of Cattaraugus Co, NY. They were in Ashtabula Co, OH in about 1838, where their son Zera was born along with several other children. They may have moved back to NY sometime before 1856 when they then immigrated to Jackson Co, IA and lived the rest of their lives there. County history (Jackson Co, IA) states that Walter's father was James B. and his grandfather was John PATTERSON. If any of these names fit with any of your PATTERSONs I would like to hear from you. Thanks. Carol Tolley
