    1. [NYCORTLA] A FREE FTB BOOK FOR THOSE THAT MIGHT BE INTERESTED
    2. Dear friends and possible cousins. I have a FTB compiled by the Burt Bro's who are my cousins of Minnesota. This is similar to another one have which was compiled by Zola Covell Salven. Perhaps these surnames ring bells with some of you as our ancestors were from Central Ny. Mass, Conn., Maine, Rhode Island, England that I noted as I was setting here trying to update a little of the information that I had knowledge of as it applied to my own family. Sad to say you wont find me listed or my sister or my father. But you will find my mother. If I knew how to enter the info without goofing the whole book up I would. But I don't so it will remain as is. But here are a few of the surnames that do appear and lest I forget many of these people settled in Green Co., Wisconsin, and also Iowa. Then all the way to Oregon. HILLS this is first families America dating back to 1632 in Mass and Hartford, Connecticut. Burt some of this line and others in the book link to Canada, Hare, Hurlburt, Bidwell, Sanders/Saunders line, Coon?, Dodge, Covell, Salven, Cessna of Pennsylvania. All Cessna's are related in the united States of America. Towns direct fm England I think to Wisc or Minn. This document will print out to about a 110 pages. There are only two ways I can send it. That is by copying and pasting or as an attachment. I wish I could do otherwise. But I rcvd it as txt and that is all I know how to do with it. Many of the people in this history were pioneers of our great country. It starts out with my GGGgparents Joel Hills and Mary "Polly" Fox. They were from Connecticut. One of their sons led a wagon train to Oregon from around Missouri in or about 1850. Who was he well he was Cornealious Joel Hills. An interesting note about it or at least to me. There was a young lad by the name of Geo W. Riddle on the wagon train and was about 11 or 12 years old at the time. This young lad later wrote about his trip with my GGG-uncle Cornelius Joel and could not heap a enough praise on him and the respect he had for him. One of Joels descendants had the town of Jasper, Oregon named for him. As for ole Geo W. Riddle he too had Ridddle, Oregon named for him. Now why should say this all is an interesting note other than some history and my GGGuncle. Well you see my maternal grandfather was also a George W. Riddle. You will find him with my grandmother Mary Sanders the #45 in the book. But for any of you who had ancestor's that migrated west in or around the 1840's--1850's you may just find a conection. Least I forget the Skillings of the State of Maine are a large portion of this family. I would ask a favor of any of you that might be interested in this. I would dearly love to see a copy of it placed in your Historical Society, Such as Cortland,Onondaga, Chenango and Madison Counties and that includes the county Rome, Ny is in, as one of my g-uncles was born there. Yes it will cost you a little time and money in materials. If this is a problem then let me know and I will be more than happy to cover your cost. Stanley Boyd Brookshier, Sr Knoxville, Tennessee
