    3. Do any local people have a suggestion for someone who has only 1 day to spend in Cortland so they can make the most of their research time? Vicki -----Original Message----- From: Libby Saxby [SMTP:libby1@san.rr.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 21, 2001 8:52 AM To: NYCORTLA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [NYCORTLA] Saxby research I'm going to be in the Cortland area in July for one day. My husband's Saxby family were in Solon in the mid-1800s. What would be my best chances of getting any information? I'm wondering if it would do me any good to go to the county courthouse, or will I find the same information at the library in Albany? I'll be there also, for two days. Thanks for any help. 3. Libby / Vicki My recommendation for a limited time research project would be the Cortland County Historical Society Museum. 25 Homer Avenue, Cortland, NY 13045 (607) 756-6071 I have recently started using thier resources / references and found many good leads / information. They have a considerable size library and the attendants have been very helpful. You tell them who and what your looking for and they can almost over whelm you with material. Check thier open hours. There is a fee for research time, but actually very reasonable. I have resently became a member, anticipating the time I will spend there. Hope this helps.
