Greetings List Members and especially to Dan W. First of all, thanks Dan for some of the best data I have encountered. Your History/Genealogy site is terrific. I have it bookmarked and re-visit periodically. I encourage those who have not checked out the page, do so you will be impressed. I have researched not on internet for over 22 yrs. History and Genealogy go hand in hand, no problem for me as I have always enjoyed history. Being able to place our ancestors into that general hisory is unbeatable. This is the Cortland list, my Father was born in Cortland, I research for self and others on many surnames that are supposed to be in certain counties, seems a bit difficult to convince some people how important maps-not new ones-are in doing this, also to spread out from the area they know their ancestors were, I am still thrilled but no more surprised to find them several counties away. And so when looking for someone in Cortland Co., Madison Co., Broome Co., please do not forget to check out Dans site. I found a family who were supposedly in Genessee and definetly in Onondaga Co., Syracuse, what a shock to this person when ever so many old records were found and passed on, from where? Dan's site.
