    3. Hello All: I am looking for a reference to Asa Joiner, tombstone carver, that is siad to be in the 1885 "History of Cortland County" by H.P. Smith. I see that most of this book is on-line at the Cortland County Page http://www.rootsweb.com/~nycortla/smithhis.htm but I find no mention of Asa Joiner nor his tombstone business in the parts that are available. Perhaps it is in the Cortlandville section that is not yet been put on line?? I would very much appreciate it if someone with access to the book could do a look-up for me and find the text I am after. The text I need deals with Asa Joiner and in summary his wife won't marry him because he has no marriage certificate, he cuts and signs a stone for Basheba Joiner (wife of John Joiner), he learned his trade in Rutland VT, when he died they could not find his will. Sorry, but that is about all that was given me and I need the full text! Thanks in advance for any help Dan W. http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyccazen/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyccazen/Tombstones/CortlandCoCarvers.html
