    1. Homer and Freetown Corners
    2. Marilyn Bess
    3. Could any one on the list give me the days and the hours and the phone numbers for the historians in the towns of Freetown Corners and Homer, in Cortland county NY? I have family records that say the some family members were buried in these places. I am wondering if the cemetery care takers etc. would have access to the owners of the older burial lots. these burial would of been to the latest in the 186o and 1870. Some would have been around 1820 and following. Thank you Marilyn Bess --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). 1. THANK YOU
    2. Settle, Wendy
    3. Thank you so much. Walter answered my 1855 census and I found that my gg-grandfather had a brother who came over after they did. We were always told there was a brother, that didn't come with the family. We thought that he stayed in London and we didn't even have a name. Now we know he did come over now we just have to find out if he stayed and moved on. Narrowing down the census and asking, I would have never found this league. I have came across this name before in London, so now I will order the christening records and see if I can get any more leads in tracking this family down. It never hurts to ask. 3. I am wondering if any sks has access to the 1855 census and/or directories can look up Henry Gardner. His wife was Elizabeth and son Charles. I have them arriving in May 30, 1851 to New York from England. Henry was around 60-63 years old and was listed as a labor on the ship manifest but on the 1860 census he was listed as a gentleman. In 1860, they are listed in the Homer, Cortland County, New York census. Trying to narrow the years. Thank you, Wendy Washington State

    1. re: 1850 census
    2. I've just discovered that my presumed ancestor, Daniel Owen had a dau. living in Cortlandville, NY in 1843, 1848, & 1849, according to the "Abstracts of Rev. War Pension Files", abstracted by Virgil D. White. I believe the daus' husband was William Eldredge. I'm hoping and wondering if anyone on the list has easy access to the 1850 census of Cortlandville, and can look and see what the daus' first name is. Many thanks,

NY in 1850 with wife Miriam (CARPENTER), daughter of Ruggles and Julianna (PIERCE) CARPENTER. Is anyone researching this family in Cortland Co. in the mid-1800s? Anyone know of a source that names all of Eli's and Miriam's children?

    1. Upper Cinc Cem FILE COMING
    2. Max LeGrand
    3. Hello, I will be sending you a file with all the SURNAMES for the Upper Cincinnatus Cemetery. It has columns to the right of each name which are the key to finding each name on the master charts. I used a map-reading tool, which has the plots as letters across the top, and numbers for each row. The individual and/or plot can be located by this process very quickly. I gave the SURNAME list to the caretakers of the cemetery, as well as charts on 8.5x11 sheets, which can be used more easily than the old and cumbersome posterboard charts. James, is there a process whereby cemetery caretakers can call in new burials as they are added? If so, to whom should they send that information. This is coming your way to let you know that I am sending you the file with SURNAMES so that you can look for the attachment. The name of the attachment is: Upper Cinc Cem SURNAMES alpha Will this cemetery be added to the page at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~nycortla/cemsumm.htm Only the Lower Cincinnatus Cemetery is listed at that page. Max P.S. I'm sending a copy of this email to you, to the Cortland List. That way those who have asked for info on this cemetery, will know that the alpha-list will be availabe on the web soon. Maybe you could send an email to the list when you have completed the listing, giving the URL where it can be found? 1. Look up
    2. All of these are 1944 only look-ups: My great-grandmother was still alive until Dec 1944. She would have been listed as either Mrs. Albert B. White or Harriet White. She probably was living in Cortland since she died there. I am not sure where my father's family was living at the time. In 1930 they were living in Cortland but they moved a great deal. My grandfather's name was Robert Stirrat, my grandmother was Doris White Stirrat. My great-aunt was married to a man named Frank Gehr around the 1944, they too may have been in Cortland. My gr-aunt's first name was Harriet. Thank you Valerie Reynolds

FISH, Allen - Did not find Allen, sorry Michael Seamans Fish names are: Harry, Paul+Sarah, Frank, Ellen - Mary, Reuben + Betsey - Ephraim + Mary, Thomas, EW, Chas A, and one with no first name listed. RAYMOND, Zuriel - Did not find Zuriel for person from Salinas, CA Zuriel rev.vet, d. 1 nov 1821. There is only John Raymond. Since I discovered on the internet that Zuriel Raymond was one of the earliest settlers of Cincinnatus, per "History of Cincinnatus from Smith's History," I will check other cemeteries and sources when I have a chance. CLARK, FrankB (also Zeno, Sarah, Adell Clark) sorry Star. There are NO Clark surnames here. Hope this helps. Max P.S. to James Knapp. I have compiled a complete list of burials at Upper Cincinnatus Cemetery. If you can suggest places for me to make the list available either online or otherwise, let me know. 3. Has anyone ever heard of the community of REUBENS? My great-great grandmother, Roxana Peak/Peek, was reported to have died in a personals column headed REUBENS in The Cincinnatus Times of January 6, 1904. From the item, I suspect that Reubens was in the area of Dutch Hill or Freetown, but would appreciate confirmation. Would also like contact with anyone researching the Peek family of Truxton and Cuyler.
