I looked for Edward in the 1850 census and I think I found him listed as "Edmund" in the town of Esperance, Schoharie county with: Sarah A., age 48, born NY Theodore, age 17, chair making, born NY. William J., age 14, born NY Edmund, age 12, born NY Adaline, age 10, born NY Sarah A. Gibbs, age 2, born NY. The reason I think this may be his family as I also found a Theodore Tiffany (who may be Edward's brother) in the 1875 census also in Hudson, 4th Election District, pg 4, Line 32, Dwelling 28, Wood house valued at $3,000, Family No. 37: Theodore Tiffanny, age 41, male, born Montgomery county, married, Agent. Mary, age 39, female, wife, born Montgomery, married. Charles, age 19, male, son, born Montgomery. Nettie, age 18, female, daughter, born Columbia. Arthur, age 13, male, son, born Columbia.
