Cornelius is my gg grandfather. Several years ago I tried to trace the name Carr (and variant spellings) and succeeded in going back 2 more generations to his father, Willem/William, to Charles, b.1697. But there it stops and I don't know whether the name was of Dutch or English background. Cornelius died in Canada, and was buried in Coaticook, Stanstead, Quebec, near the Vermont border. His son John migrated to Michigan; John's son Charles moved to Cleveland and died there in 1947; his son, my father, was John; I am Charles, and my son's is named John.
