You can't really blame the author for not including families if no one has found the records. My main problem with the book is the opposite, some people are included with little or no documentation. e.g. Samuel (#291) and Elisha (#292) each have a son named Samuel listed, the evidence for each is scant. The only source for Samuel, the son of Samuel, that I know of is a book called "The Annals of Oxford New York". It includes a dubious and anachronistic tale of pirates. The only source noted for Samuel, son of Elisha, is "PEDS Files". That Samuel is listed as being born 4 May 1761 in Oxford NY, before the town existed and when few Europeans lived in the area. He seems to have been confused with John (#1053), son of Samuel (#291), who WAS born 4 May 1761 and later moved to Oxford NY. John is my ancestor, I haven't found any record of other Hatch families in Oxford in that time period.
