Hi All, On June 8th, I was informed of a sale of a tombstone on Ebay which happens to be my great great grandfather's first wife's stone. I contacted Ebay and they withdrew the sale. I contacted the seller and even had the local police contact him. He has since emailed with a nasty note say "YOU TELL ME WHERE IT GOES. AND I WILL TAKE CARE OF IT." Her name was Louisa Marston and she died in Salisbury, CT on Dec. 5, 1856. There is no record of burial in Salisbury that I have been able to find. Louisa's husband Erastus D. Marston spent most of his life in Copake and Hillsdale (mostly Copake), he was a blacksmith and probably lived and worked near the Copake Iron Works. His second wife Harriet (McIntosh) Marston died in Copake on 18 June 1889 and her death certificate says she was buried in Copake Iron Works. Does anyone know of a cemetery in or near Copake Iron Works? I do know that the foundry is now in the Taconic State Park. And I am going to call the park department on Monday. I am thinking that perhaps Louisa Marston was buried there also. Any help would be much appreciated as I would like to reset the stone. The man who has possession of it will not return it until I find out where it goes.
