Is anyone looking for Matthews from upstate NY; specifically Columbia and Greene counties? I descend from John Albert 1803-1859 -> Lauren Alonzo 1837-1906 ->William Tompkins 1870-1945 -> Harry Allen Matthews 1902-1982 (my father). John Albert came to Greene from Columbia County, per the census; but, I have not found his parents. They remained in Greene Co. and all are buried there in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Ashland.
