Tunis was born 1796 in New York, and died 16 October 1840 in New York. He married MARIA TATER. She was born 1800 in New York, and died 18 May 1877 in New York. They are buried West Ghent Reformed Church Cemetery, West Ghent, Columbia County, New York. They had at least two children: i. JOHN HENRY ISBISTER, b. 1819, Columbia County, New York; d. Bef. 1900. ii. GEORGE ISBISTER, b. 28 December 1821, Columbia County, New York; d. 02 January 1892, Columbia County, New York. My direct line is through who I believe is Tunis' sister, ANNA ISBISTER, b. Abt. 1797, New York; d. March 1882, Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York. She married JOHN DEVOE, JR 24 February 1821 in the Reformed Dutch Church, Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York, son of JOHANNES DEVOE and DEBORAH BOGARDUS. They had at least seven children: i. GEORGE HENRY DEVOE, b. 15 July 1822, Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York; d. 1889. ii. CATHARINE MARIA DEVOE, b. 15 December 1823, Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York; d. 24 January 1894, Stuyvesant, Columbia County, New York9; m. F. JACOB PLATNER, 01 September 1842, Saint Luke's Church, Millville, Valatie, Columbia County, New York; b. 1805, New York. iii. JOHN E. DEVOE, b. 1826, Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York; d. 20 March 1900, Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York. iv. ELIZABETH ANN DEVOE, b. 25 January 1830, Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York; d. 1872; m. ? NIGER. v. TUNIS DEVOE, b. 07 May 1834, Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York; d. 24 May 1920, Columbia County, New York. He married MARY CAROLINE MCALLISTER 07 July 1867 in Stuyvesant Landing, Columbia County, New York, daughter of HENRY MCALLISTER and RACHAEL. She was born 29 May 1843 in New York, and died 03 February 1936 in Columbia County, New York. vi. ALLEN DEVOE, b. 16 March 1836, Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York; d. 01 June 1902, Minnesota; m. LENA CRAM. vii. HARRIET DEVOE, b. 23 May 1838, Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York; d. 25 April 1905, Davenport, Scott County, Iowa. She married MORRIS SHELLCROSS HOWELL 27 January 1869 in New York, son of JOHN HOWELL and ELIZA DUEY. He was born 07 August 1828 in New Hartford, Oneida County, New York, and died 05 September 1882 in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa.
