I am looking for any information on a family named Fallon (also spelled Follen and Folland) that lived in Canaan, Columbia County in the mid-1800s. John Fallon was born in Ireland c. 1826 and was in Canaan in the 1860 and 1865 censuses with his family (below). In 1870, his wife Bridget remarried in Pittsfield, MA and I suspect that John and Bridget were divorced, since she was married by a Justice of the Peace and also, a John Fallon shows up in the 1900 census with the same "fact pattern" in Boston. The family (in the 1860 census) was: John Fallon, age 34, born in Ireland Bridget Fallon, age 33, born in Ireland Matthew Fallon, age 6, born in Ireland Mary Fallon, age 3, born in Ireland Catherine Fallon, age 1, born in New York Bill C. - Orange, CT
