Can anyone tell me if this enough information to find where this land lies and if the Tax Assessors Office would be able to tell me. Lyon They lived on Gale Hill near West Lebanon, NY where Nehemiah's Father, coming from Sawpit, NY had settled and where a daughter Susan (Gale) Ashby now lives (1900) Gale Hill is a mountain summit in Columbia County in the state of New York (NY). Gale Hill climbs to 1,155 feet (352.04 meters) above sea level. Gale Hill is located at latitude - longitude coordinates (also called lat - long coordinates or GPS coordinates) of N 42.483415 and W -73.503723. Deed: Know all men By these Presents that I, NEHEMIAH GALE of Canaan County of Columbia State of New York Do for and in the consideration of the sum of one Hundred and ten Pounds Lawful money of said State to me in hand paid by ASA EVANS of said town and county afores, the receipt whereof is hearby acknolidged and my self fully paid and sattisfied Do give grant bargain sell release convey and confirm unto the said ASA EVANS his heirs and assigns for ever all that piece or parcel of land lying and being in the town of Canaan County of Columbia Buted and Bounded as follows, beginning at a chestnutt Stand mark with stones about it then running on the road as the fence Now stands to WILLIAM CASEs corner to a stake and stones thence southwest to a stake & stones running westerly to a stake and stones then turning and running westerly to green stand mark with stones about it then turning North westerly and running to a walnut stand mark and stones about it then turning and running wes! terly to a white oak tree by the fence then turning and running southerly by WILLIAM CASE and THOMAS BENTLY as the fence now stands to a stand and stones about it and grape vines running on it then turning and running westerly as the Brook runs to T BENTLYs Northwest Corner then turning and running southerly as the fence now stands to a stake and stones then turning and running northerly to a white pine mark, and stones about it then turning and running westerly to a hard maple then turning and running northerly to the first mentioned Bounds reserving at the place called the mud hole going to the water priveledge of water on the mentioned line at the most convient place and do the least damage to Sd Evans, and to have a lane four rods wide to said Spring. ---- To have and to hold the above described premises with all priveledges....and appertaining unto him the said ASA EVENS his heirs and assigns and I do by these presents bind myself my heirs Executors or administrators t! o warrant and defend the same free and clear from all persons claimin g from by or under me in Testimony whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this fifth day of November 1795 Nehemiah Gale (Ss) her Ginny X Gale (Ss) Signed mark JAMES LACKWOOD ELIJAH GALE WILLIAM CASE Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
