My info says Asahel was born 1747 in Ridgefield, Fairfield Co., Conn. (from: They Came From Milton) I also am seeking parentage and siblings of Elinor Briggs. Their son Joseph claimed to be of Scottish descent and in the War of 1812. (See 'Commemorative Biographical Record of the Counties of Rock, Green, Grant, Iowa and Lafayette Wisconsin', 1901, p.421, 422).
