I am seeking his parents. It should go back to the Crary family of New London County, Connecticut. Palmer Crary b: abt 1820 was a New York City tugboat captain, owner of the Black Ball line of boats. He was born in Columbia County, NY. Possible parents are Humphrey Crary b: 1781 and Helena. Possible siblings include Peter b: 1807, Humphrey H b: 1815, and Alexander H b: 1809. Daughters are Marion E Hartell b: 1850, and Catherine Crary b: 1857, a possible son is Edmund C Crary b: Aug 1848. Possible grandson is Palmer Hartell Crary b: NYC 30 June 1877. There is a connection to the Crary line that married into the family of the steamboat inventor Robert Fulton. I'm trying to pin down the exact nature of that connection, whether direct or indirect. Thanks. Scott Robertson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
