Would anyone have some advice for finding some proof of an ancestor's birth or baptism in Hudson, Columbia about 1834? I don't believe NY had records. It sounds like any Catholic church record keeping might not have begun until 1841. And I've not been able to find any history of an early Anglican church. My person is CHRISTIANA /CHRISTINA LANCASTER. She claimed her birth in Hudson about 1834. Her parents (James Lancaster and Mary Stock) had two children born first in Lancashire England before emigrating. In England, the family had marriages and baptisms in both the Roman Catholic and Anglican /or Church of England parishes. They might have used either in the USA. I think the family was only in Hudson for a short time, maybe arriving shortly before Christiana's birth. By 1840, the family had migrated to Taunton, Massachusetts. Any help would be appreciated.
