    3. The answer is neither. The state takes months (7+ the last time I ordered) and the County Clerk doesn't have the VRs. You should write to the town clerk. -----Original Message----- From: Grace Coffman [mailto:glasker1@bigred.unl.edu] Sent: Thursday, November 01, 2001 5:10 PM To: NYCOLUMB-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [NYCOL] Vital Records Question Hello all, I'm sorry to ask the same questions but I am dumb when it comes to all this :) I want to send off for death certificates for several columbia county deaths. Should I send the request forms to: New York State Dept of Health Vital Records Section Genealogy Unit P.O. Box 2602 Albany, NY 12220-2602 or Columbia County Clerk Courthouse Hudson, NY 12534 (518) 828-3339 if it doesnt matter, which one is faster? Thank you all for all of your help! -Grace ______________________________
