I'm very familiar with Hank Jones' books and have seen "The Mohawk Valley Harters and Allied Families" as well, but thank you. The family of our ancestor, Johann Michael Harter, brother of Johann Niclaus, remained in Columbia Co. for the most part until after 1800. Unfortunately no one has written a similar "Hudson Valley Harders and Allied Families" (yet!). To date, we have collected over 3000 Harder/Harter individuals and have connected about 2000 of them in our files. And we're still discovering new people!
