Hi All, I am new to the list and I am desperatly searching for information on my Tompkins family line. I was told that my family may have originally came form England then to NY,VA, MASS, CAROLINA'S on to OHIO & WVA. I know it is probably a long shot but I will take every lead I can get!!!! This is the information I have my GGGGG Grandfather was Benjamin Tompkins who married Sarah Rinker in 1805 in Loudoun Co., Va. They were later found in Ohio in 1829 in Belmont County, where Nejmain died in 1829 or there abouts. They had the following childen Margaret Tompkins McVickers, Edward B. Tompkins, Lewis TOmpkins, Benajmin Tompkins and Sarah Tompkins (Parrish????) Edward B. my GGGG Grandfather was born in 1810 in Virginia. He married Pheobe Russell in Belmont Co., Ohio in 1832. They had the following children: Lewis Tompkins, John Russell Tompkins, Margaret Tompkins VanFossen,Benajmin F. Tompkins, Melissa Tompkins Livzy and Emmett Tompkins. I can go furthur with this line but what I am looking for is who Benjamin's parents were and where this line of Tompkins actually came form.
