    1. [NYCOL] CORNELL, John (1738-1813)
    2. Tom Cornell
    3. CORNELL, John -- said by 1902 Cornell Genealogy (CG#3054, p. 278) to have been born in 1738 and died in 1813. He married twice, (1) Mary Quimby and (2) Mary Ann Allen. CG also says "Some of John's family went to Canada, and their descendants are still there." Does anyone know who these descendants were? Any additional information about John?? CG also says that "Some authorities state there was no daughter in this family." Who are those authorities? Has their data been published somewhere? John is shown between two sibling born in 1728 and 1732. Is it possible he was born earlier than 1738? He is potentially the father of Sylvanus, b. 1752 in Westchester, Daniel, b. 1757, and Gabriel, b. 1759/60. Obviously, the age difference between him and Sylvanus makes this connection rather unlikely. But, if John were born five years earlier or more, then the probability rises considerably. These three "sons" did go to Canada and do still have descendants there. John was the son of Joshua Cornell and Charity Haight whose family appears in "Westchester Patriarchs" on p. 58. This possible connection is VERY IMPORTANT to around 50 researchers/descendants some of whom have been looking for their Cornell line for over 20 years and are running out of time. Please help us!
