The 2001 revision of my Guide to Albany Area Genealogical Resources includes updated information for 28 facilities in the NY counties of Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, Greene, Schenectady and Montgomery. I have added email addresses for those places that had them. Compared with the 2000 version, renovations have begun at some locations and affect the hours of operation. Some are closed for a couple of weeks this summer. One is closed for about 2 months. One moved to a new address and changed its phone number at the same time. If you plan to visit Albany or the counties mentioned above, you would benefit from taking a look at the Guide. Feel free to run off a copy to take along on your trip. Printing instructions for Netscape users (something similar might work in Internet Explorer): Click on File, then Save As. Give it a name such as Guide, but change the extension from .htm to .doc which will allow you to open it in Word. Notice the directory in which you are saving it. Open Word and find that directory. Open the file and it should look pretty good (at least mine did). It took up 16 pages of text.
