Also, his mother Lucy was from Howe's Cave, Schoharie County, and they were listed in the Rotterdam, Schenectady County census in 1900. So I think maybe William, born about 1864, may have come from the Claverack area also. I would like to find Williams parents as well!!! Mike, In the book Ameican Ancestry there is a listing for : Hotaling,Ambrose of Philmont,b.1837 (m. Libbie Hendrick) and William H. of Philmont;sons of Thomas Hotaling of Philmont,b.1812 (m.1834 Caroline Coon of Taghanick);son of Henry P. of Taghanick,b. 1774,d.1852 (m. Susie Spade).
