You might want to scroll through the ancestry.com census for 1810, NY, Dutchess County, Amenia township. I saw a Knickerbocker in there (it's only 11 pages). Amenia is just 1-2 towns away from Columbia county--all farming, so families moved back and forth, from farm to farm..Good luck
