Please excuse the cross posting. Does anyone have suggestions for finding a man who was a weaver by accessing occupational lists? Do any exist? I am looking for my ancestor Benajah Slack. Circumstantial evidence indicates that he was the Benajah born 1733 in Westerly, RI but I can't prove the RI to NY move. The Benajah who disappeared from Hopkinton, RI in 1762 was a weaver. My Benajah apparently first settled in Dutchess Co, by 1787 (and possibly by 1779) he was in Columbia Co. After 1800 he moved on to Montgomery Co. where he died in 1818. I have looked at both of the History of Dutchess Co. books and have not found Benajah. I will appreciate any suggestions.
