John was born about 1780 in New York, and Cornelia was born about 1784 in New York. It is possible that she was the daughter of Jacob (or Jacobus) Whitbeck and Elizabeth Bevins of Columbia County, NY. John and Cornelia moved from Columbia Co. to Cayuga Co., NY, then to Monroe Co., NY, and finally (I think) to Branch Co., MI. They had a number of children, including: JACOBUS, born 11 June 1802 in Claverack, Columbia Co. (LDS) Son (1805-1810) Son (1805-1810) HARRIYAENTIE, born 25 April 1807, christened at West Copake, Columbia Co. Reformed Church; Sponsors were Gabriel Bresie and Harriyaentie Whitbeck (relative of mother) (LDS and Ancestry.com) ELIZABETH, born 30 May 1809, christened at West Copake, Columbia Co. Reformed Church, Sponsors were John Burnet and Elizabeth Whitbeck (relative of mother; possibly Cornelia's mother?) (LDS and Ancestry.com) HARVEY, christened 30 Oct 1812 at Churchtown, Columbia Co. (LDS) Daughter (1811-1820) Daughter (1811-1820) Son (1816-1820) Son (1816-1820) MYRON, born in 1826 (death certificate found in Allegan Co., MI) Morgan (needs more research) (1826-1830) John and Cornelia died after 1850. Their sons, Harvey and Myron, both moved to Allegan Co., where they died in 1884 and 1902, respectively. Daughter Elizabeth married ANDREW COSGROVE and lived in Monroe Co., NY, but her whereabouts after 1850 are unknown. Her son, Robert Cosgrove, moved to Branch Co. and then to Allegan Co. with his maternal family. Any help is appreciated. I have looked at the RAOGK page but there is no listing for Columbia or Cayuga Counties. Ashley
