I've been at a deadend for years about my gr-grandfather. Census records state he was b in Columbia County, but lived in Dutchess much of his life, though he was in Philmont from before 1900 until his death about 1902. Wife Rebecca b in Pine Plains and evidently all of his 16 children (except the first, b Columbia) were born in Dutchess. He was listed in the following: 1850 Census Copake 1860 Census Pine Plains 1865 Census Dover 1870 Census North East 1880 Census Stanford Children John Wesley b Columbia 1854 Henry M b Dutchess 1855 Smith E. b Dutchess 1857 m., had 2 daughters Azella b Dutchess 1859 , m Frank Spielman, 2 sons Floyd & Leroy Mary b & d Pine Plains 1860 Ida b 1861 m Adelbert Schultis 1 dau, Grace who m Ed Plass (Ploss) Dora (Medora) b 1862 m George Wortz, about 10 children Minnie b 1864 Dover, m Julius Vaness Phelon, lived in Suffield CT Cora (my grandmother) b 1865 Stanfordville m Wm Armstrong Robert C b 1867 m Frederica ?? lived in Waterbury CT, children Edith, Earl, Edna Emma b & d 1869 Susan E. b Stanfordville, m Thos. Bowdy, 2 children, divorced him & he took the boy, she the girl, and she remarried a Michael Cramer. I'm hoping somebody has a connection. I still have not been able to find Cyrus Snyder's parents, though I'm beginning to suspect they were probably Schneiders, Palatine descendants, as were Rebecca's Smiths. TIA Jean Chapman Snow
