For everyone trying to find records of Hillsdale: Try this site on how to find early records: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/Misc/MI-ColCo-Recs.htm And if you go to Cliff's main page, there are a few records of baptisms and marriage in Nobletown and Hillsdale (Rev. Bostwick's records). Hillsdale was known as Nobletown from the 1750s, then in 1782 Hillsdale was formed from part of Claverack. Kinship has published a book "Baptism Records of Reformed Dutch Church Hillsdale, New York (Krum Church) 1776-1849. Their website is http://www.kinshipny.com/ I have been told that the church had burned down twice and also the Court House had also lost records due to a fire. Being that Hillsdale is close to the Massachusetts border, it is wise to check Massachusetts records. Early towns include Sheffield 1733 and Egremont 1760. Also try Great Barrington records. There a no published records for Sheffield and Egremont but in the Berkshire Athenaeum there is a record collection by Rollin H. Cooke called the "Cooke Collection." Their website is: http://www.berkshire.net/PittsfieldLibrary/ I hope is info helps. I know how frustrating it is to locate records for Hillsdale - it's where my ancestors originated too! Good Luck!
