Dear Joanne, In your message of May 5th you refer to a 1780 marriage in "Livingston Co.". Did you mean the then District of Livingston Manor in what became Columbia County rather than Livingston County which was formed years later in western New York? In any event, the Revolutionary War pension application of a possible brother of your Jacob, a James Decker, might be of interest. He says that he was born on Oct. 24, 1758 in the part of Columbia County that became the town of Copake (Then a part of Livingston Manor. He believes that a record of his birth was in the Lutheran Church at Churchtown in Columbia County (Livingston Manor). He says that during the Revolutionary War he resided with his Grandfather, (first name looks like Jacob) Decker, in Clermont (then also Livingston Manor). He further says that in May 1777 he with his brother Jacobus Decker enlisted for three years and marched to Fishkill and Stony Point, where he became ill. The name Jacob Decker in Fernow's "New York in the Revolution" in the section "Roster of State of State Troops" Militia & Levies which were long service militia regiments as: Sergeant in Col. Dubois' Regiment of Levies and as a Sergeant in the 10th Albany Militia Regiment of Livingston Manor. Fernow also shows a Private Jacob C. Decker in the 10th Albany Militia Regiment of Livingston Manor. Robert's "New York in the Revolution as Colony and State" shows a Jacob Decker & a Jacob Decker in the 10th Albany Militia Regiment. Robert's work also shows a Jacob L. Decker in a Land Bounty list for this Regiment. I will dig a little more to see if there is anything more. Don
