A. Ashley in Columbia, NY. I can't offer much information but I do know that Nelson G. Ashley, b. 1823 in Ashley Hill, NY, married Catherine VanValkenburgh in Columbia, NY, in 1844. She was the daughter of John VanValkenburgh. Nelson and Catherine moved to Michigan in 1857. They moved died in Mt. Pleasant, MI, in 1890. I am seeking information on Henry Ashley, b. 1811 in NY, moved to Michigan. He may have had a brother Thomas (son Enoch), who lived in Jackson, MI, in 1870.
