Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/NY/Columbia/11706 Surname: ------------------------- Columbia Conty is rich in ledgends, but one that seems verified by many contemporary sourcess is the late president's eye for the ladies. It is very possible you Ann was an illig. daughter or light of love, there was a grave (occupant never named) about 3 miles outside of Kinderhook that he frequently visited. He was also very generous and did take in youngsters that had lost their parents, especially females. Since is is my 3rd cousin on the Vosburgh and Hoes (Hoes) sides, he could have gotten this yen for the ladies from either. If I get out and about more this spring, I will see what other tid bits I can discover hidden in Columbia County for you! Diane
